The Turkey Visa For Pakistanis: Two Doors, One Passport
Istanbul weekends, Bursa buying trips, the hair-restoration file — Türkiye is the destination Pakistani travellers ask about most after Dubai, and its visa runs on a logic of two doors. The e-Visa that needs a supporting visa, and the sticker file that needs a story. Both doors, built honestly.

Ask a room of Pakistani travellers where they want to go next, and after Dubai one answer dominates: Turkey. The Istanbul weekend with the Bosphorus ferry. The wedding-shopping run. The hair restoration file we have written about before. And then, immediately after the dream, comes the practical question — kya visa ka scene hai? — and the room splits into two camps: the ones who insist Turkey is visa-on-arrival (they are wrong) and the ones who insist it is impossible (also wrong). The truth is better than both. Turkey runs two doors for the green passport, and the whole game is knowing which door is yours before you spend a rupee.
01 /The two doors, plainly
- Door one — the e-Visa. If your passport carries a valid visa or a valid residence permit from the Schengen area, the United States, the United Kingdom or Ireland, Türkiye lets you apply online through its official e-visa portal: a single-entry, thirty-day visa for tourism or commerce, issued in minutes while you finish your tea. The supporting visa must still be valid on the day you enter Türkiye, and the airline checks both documents at boarding — immigration checks them again on arrival. Note the fine print: an American ESTA or a British ETA is a travel authorisation, not a visa, and it does not open this door.
- Door two — the sticker visa, through the Turkish Embassy and Consulates in Pakistan. No supporting Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa? This is your door, and it is a proper file: documents, biometrics, verification, decision. The submission itself runs through the visa application centres the Turkish mission has authorized in Pakistan — a company called Anatolia Travel Services, with centres in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Hyderabad, open weekday mornings and early afternoons on a walk-in basis, no appointment needed for individuals.
- Both doors begin online now — Türkiye's own pre-application system starts the file before any paper moves — but only the sticker door ends at a counter, with your hands on a fingerprint scanner.
- The e-Visa covers tourism and commerce only. Work and study are their own files, always through the mission itself.
02 /The sticker file, item by item
The sticker file is where most of our Turkey work happens, so let us lay it out the way we build it:
- The passport — valid at least six months beyond arrival, with copies of the current one and any old passports, because travel history is part of the story this file tells.
- Two recent biometric photographs to the exact specification in the checklist — not the ones cropped from a wedding shoot.
- Bank statements attested by the bank itself, showing a history of money rather than a sudden deposit the week before the appointment — the same maintenance-certificate discipline every serious visa file runs on.
- Confirmed hotel bookings and a return ticket that match the stated plan, the dates, and each other. Mismatched dates are the quietest way to lose this file.
- At the centre: the online form is completed with you, the file is lodged, and biometrics are taken — a photograph and all ten fingerprints. If there is mehndi on the fingertips, it has to come off first; the scanners need clean skin. Plan the salon visit accordingly.
- Adults sign their own forms in person — entry is restricted to applicants only, no cousins or agents accompanying you inside — and for anyone under eighteen, a parent must appear in person to sign the undertaking form.
“The e-visa asks what is already in your wallet. The sticker visa asks who you are. Two different conversations — and both are winnable.”
03 /Where Turkey files sink
The refusals we see are rarely dramatic; they are clerical. A bank statement printed fresh with no history behind it. A hotel booking that contradicts the dates on the form. An expired supporting visa presented at the e-visa door — the most common self-inflicted wound in this file. And the quiet killer: arranged or forged documents, which the mission's verification unit actively hunts; a file caught with one is worse than refused, it is flagged. The Turkish file rewards the same discipline as the Japan file we have written about: everything matching everything, and nothing invented.
04 /What the trip rewards
- Istanbul — Sultanahmet, the Bosphorus ferries, a Grand Bazaar that expects your bargaining. Two continents in one afternoon, and the ezan drifting over both.
- Cappadocia — the balloon launch at dawn, and cave hotels that make the early wake-up feel engineered for you.
- Antalya and the Turquoise Coast — where the Mediterranean insists on being photographed.
- Bursa and the Uludağ cable car — the older families' favourite: green, unhurried, and mercifully walkable.
- The practical ease is real — halal food everywhere, prayer space in the major malls and airports, and a language of hospitality that needs no translation: the Turkish tamam is already in every Pakistani's vocabulary.
05 /What the desk does
We open by checking the door, not the destination. If your passport carries a valid Schengen, UK, US or Irish visa or residence permit, we complete the e-visa with you on the spot, and the Turkey trip becomes a same-week conversation. If it does not, we build the sticker file properly — the right checklist, the attested statements, the bookings that match the form — and take you through the centre's biometrics and submission without the guesswork. Either way, the flights, the Istanbul hotel and the week itself get quoted on the same WhatsApp thread once the visa is real.
